Investigating the economic-social factors affecting on pastoralists participatory in implementing rangeland management project in the Sanandaj city

Abstract

The present research was implemented by the purpose of analyzing the economic and social factors affecting on the amount of participation of the rural people and pastoralists in range management projects in the Sanandaj city, Kordestan province. Statistical community of this research was consisting of 420 pastoralists from 10 range management projects in 10 villages. Overall, 200 persons of them were investigated by stratified random and survey method. Data information instrument in this study was through questionnaire. Content validity of questionnaire was determined by experts and specialists viewpoints and questionnaire reliability was calculated by Cronbach's alpha that for this research was equal to 0.812. Results showed that through variables of the amount of annual income from the economic factors and formation of education and extension courses and also responsibility feeling from the social factors with the correlation coefficients of 0.233, 0.180 and 0.388 had positive and significant relation with pastoralists participatory. Results from multivariate regressions showed that the most variations of dependent variables were related to social factors equal to 11.81. Also the results showed that in significant level of 95%, the amount of pastoralists participatory in rangeland management projects in two variables of annual income and range management cooperatives were different. With paying attention to the results, to be present in training and extension courses, to increase the income using peripheral activities and also, organizing cooperatives and membership of pastoralists in them can be the suggestion of this research.
